Tony really wanted to do something active on this trip and we were quickly running out of time. Cassis was a good 2.5 hour drive from the house in Vence but he convinced a couple of us it was worth the drive so we went. We were NOT disappointed.

We couldn't find any trail maps so as soon as we got there we looked for the tourism office. The office was right by the beach and had tons of helpful information about the area. We got a couple maps marked up with suggestions for 2-3 hour hikes and took off to grab some lunch first.

The hike itself was awesome. At first we had trouble finding the trail but once we were on it the beginning was pretty easy. There were quite a few very scenic spots for photo ops. We got to the first beach pretty easily but it was just so-so. We weren't sure how to get to the 2nd beach but we just followed the other people. At the top of the hill were a crossroads and a young German couple showed us the route to the 2nd beach. That route was super steep, we wished we wore hiking shoes and not just gym shoes or walking shoes. Once there the beach was very cool.

I hadn't been in the water at all on this trip so I went behind a bush to change into my swim trunks. While changing I heard rustling behind me and turned to find what looked like a dog. But it wasn't a dog, it was a small scrawny wild Fox!! It walked right up to me and sniffed my feet. I was wondering what it would do next, bite me or pee on my feet. Fortunately it just walked away.
