Giselle finally did her checkout dives! I found a nice dive shop called Scuba Marco. The first two checkout dives were less than stellar. We drove a few minutes to a friend of the dive instructor's house where we lugged the gear to the back of the house and the dives too place in the bay out back. Visibility was horrible, 5' is being generous. But despite that she managed to get all her skills done.

Second day with whole family

The second day of checkout dives we were able to join her. This time we took a boat about 30 minutes out of Marco to some artificial reef sites a few miles from shore at a site that was called Key Reef.

Here we dove two artificial reefs somewhat close to each other. The first was a pile of concrete tubes and the second was a sunken barge. Both were fairly interesting with lots of wildlife. The second dive in particular had four very large Goliath Groupers!!! The visitibily here was better but still not great at 15'-20'.

These dives are logged as dive 250 and dive 251.
