We've been talking about hiking Machu Picchu for years and we finally went and did it. We decided to do a trip to Lake Titicaca as part of the trip while we're there.

The best way to get from Puno to Cusco is the very luxurious Andean Explorer. The train ride is around 9 or 10 hours but never boring.

A short, but very tough day 2 on the Inca Trail. Most of the day was the climb to Dead Woman's Pass.

Day 3 is the longest day of hiking of the trip but since there isn't that much altitude increase it's not that difficult. This day also has us visiting numerous archeological sites which breaks up the day.

Day 4, get up bright and early and walk the last couple hours to the amazing Machu Picchu. Worth every step.
