Berlin, Germany : Trip Report

Alexanderplatz

I grouped several spots I visited in East Berlin other than Museum Island under Alexanderplatz as I didn't spend that much time there. Alexanderplatz is a large square in the middle of that part of the city that contains several sites including the Television Tower, Church of St. Mary, Red City Hall and the Neptune Fountain. I included several other pictures I took around East Berlin in this section as well.

The Television Tower is by far the tallest structure in Berlin. I wanted to go to the top but either the weather wasn't co-operating or it was closed when I was there. The bottom of it looked to be in disrepair so I wasn't too worried about not going up to the top anyway.

The Neptune Fountain and Church of St. Mary are nearby. The Church of St. Mary is the second oldest church in Berlin and is famous for a fresco called the "dance of death". The church was closed when I was there so I wasn't able to see this famous fresco painted after Berlin's plague epidemic.
