The Ioa Valley is a valley on the north part of Maui that was carved out of a volcanic crater by eons of erosion. This part of Maui gets a fair amount of rain. It was a nice park, but we were disappointed how small it was. We were hoping to do a fair amount of hiking, but the trails were very short.

After visiting the valley we drove around the north side of the island for a little while and took in some of the sights. Due our restriction on altitude, we couldn't go to Hana at all. We had to wait til the following morning to visit Haleakala.
